A true entrepreneur, Mary Ann Seymour is living the American Dream. She is founder, president and chief executive officer of Diversified Corporate Supplies (DCS). Since its inception, Ms. Seymour has grown the company's earnings from $295,000 its first year to nearly $2,000,000 in 2007. It is her goal to grow DCS into a multimillion-dollar company over the next five years. A Los Angeles native, Ms. Seymour grew up in San Gabriel Valley. She attended Citrus College where she mastered in Business Administration. Ms. Seymour was inspired by working with the president of a Walnut-based sales company for four years, which provided her the boost to start her own company.
Changes in her personal life sent Ms. Seymour back into corporate employment, where she worked as a Sales Manager for Omni Computer Products. It was with Omni that she also learned the computer supplies business. Armed with knowledge and confidence, in January, 2000, Los Angeles-based Discount Computer Supplies (DCS) was formed as a distributor of OEM-compatible imaging supplies. Ms. Seymour recognized a market for providing consumers with alternative solutions to the high cost of OEM-brand imaging supplies. DCS now offers a complete range of all the items that normal office-automated businesses require to support their everyday functions including, IT supplies and accessories; break room supplies; janitorial/maintenance supplies; safety/first-aid items; general office supplies & equipment; office furniture and promotional items.
Ms. Seymour is a member of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) where she serves on the Public Policy Committee, Ladies for Ethnic Advancement and Dignity, Inc. (LEAD), Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Board member of California Small Business Association (CSBA), Great Beginnings for Black Babies (GBBB) and she is also a supporter Kiwanis, Habitat for Humanity, Union Rescue Mission and the American Cancer Society.
