Derek Johnson is Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P), Marketing and International, for The Walt Disney Company. In this role, he is responsible for International and Marketing sourcing support for the Studio, Theme Parks, Media Networks, Consumer Products, and Corporate. He manages SS&P international offices in China, India, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom. He started with Disney in September 2005.
Prior to joining Disney in 2005, Derek held leadership roles in new product development, finance, marketing, indirect and direct material sourcing, and supplier quality for General Motors and Saturn. Derek was raised on a cattle ranch in southern Oregon, spent a year building greenhouses in Libya, and served two years as a missionary in the Dominican Republic. He has five children, and has been married since 1986.
Derek earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University, and his Masters of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Vanderbilt University.
