Fred Lona is the Senior Director - Supplier Diversity for Hilton Hotels
Corporation based in Beverly Hills, California. In this role he is responsible
for directing the development, administration, execution, and monitoring
of the Hilton Hotels Corporation’s supplier diversity program and ensuring
its compliance with the corporate-wide diversity strategy.
With more than 10 years experience in Supplier Diversity, Mr. Lona joined
Hilton Hotels Corporation two years ago from AT&T Corporation where he
spent 20 years in increasingly responsible management positions, most recently
as Western Regional Director for Supplier Diversity. In this capacity, he
oversaw the development and implementation of corporate initiatives to accelerate
MWBE utilization and business growth for AT&T, including managing federal
programs that generated over $200 million in revenue. Previously, Mr. Lona
held the position of Procurement Manager – Pacific Northwest where
he was responsible for managing over $100 million in real estate services.
Mr. Lona has also held management positions with AT&T in the areas of
sales, marketing, and technical support.
Mr. Lona currently serves as Chairman of the Corporate Board of the Southern
California Minority Business Development Council and as Chair of National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC)'s
Hospitality Industry Group. Mr. Lona has also served on boards of diverse
organizations, including the Asian Business Association, California DVBE
Alliance, Latin Business Association, Northern California Supplier Development
Council, National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, and
the Rocky Mountain Supplier Diversity Council. He has also been a long time
member of the Institute for Supply Management.
Mr. Lona has earned numerous awards and recognitions, including “Resolution
of Appreciation” (Southern California Minority Business Development
Council), “Outstanding Corporate Board Member” (Rocky Mountain
Supplier Diversity Council), “Support Appreciation Award” (the
California Black Chamber of Commerce); and AT&T’s “Creating
Excellence Awards,” “Super Achievers Club,” and “Excellence
in Customer Satisfaction Awards.”
Mr. Lona holds a BS in Marketing from California State University Long Beach
and has completed two years of studies at the University of San Francisco
Law School. He resides with his family in Glendale, California.
